1. Data Collection
At DANASA we collect only the information strictly necessary to process your orders and pay our authors. This includes names, email addresses, and physical shipping addresses (for delivery of printed books).
2. Payment Processing
DANASA does not store credit card numbers, bank accounts, or sensitive financial information on our servers. All payment processing, identity validation (KYC), and author bank deposits are handled securely and encrypted through Stripe, Inc.
3. Use of Information
Your personal information will never be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising purposes. Your shipping data is only shared with our manufacturing and logistics partners (such as Lulu.com, FedEx, DHL) exclusively for the purpose of printing and shipping your physical order.
If you publish on DANASA and turn on automatic translation in “My Books”, the title and description of your books are sent to Google, through its Gemini API, to be translated into other languages of the store. Nothing else is sent: neither the text of your books nor your account details. Automatic translation is off by default, and nothing is sent unless you turn it on. You can turn it off at any time: from then on nothing more is sent, and translations already made stay stored with the book but are no longer shown; if you later change a book's description, the translation of that description is deleted.
To find out when something breaks, we use Sentry, a service of Functional Software, Inc. (United States), as a data processor. If an error occurs, on our servers or in your browser, a report is sent to Sentry with the error trace (what failed and where in the code), the path of the page where it happened, and the browser and operating system it was visited from; and, for a small sample of visits, how long each step took is also sent, to find what is slow. Before the report leaves, it is cleaned: your account is not sent, and your email address and IP address are deleted wherever they appear, along with cookies and access headers, anything you typed into a form, and the values the page address carries after the “?”. If the text of the error itself mentions some other detail of yours, such as your name, that detail may be included in the report. We use it only to find and fix errors, never for advertising.
